SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WNCN) – Police released the identity of the man killed in a daytime shooting at an apartment in Smithfield on Monday.
The Smithfield Police Department responded at 4:55 p.m. to a disturbance at 2261 Kay Dr.
Smithfield police identified the victim as 30-year-old Antwane Deshawn Fellows of Clayton. Investigators said an altercation broke out inside the home, resulting in the victim being shot. The shooting stemmed from an argument over a misplaced cellphone, police said.
Detectives were able to obtain probable cause for the arrest of Markyse Naijae McCain, who's wanted for first-degree murder, according to Smithfield police.

He's considered to be armed and dangerous.
