WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) -- Winston-Salem police began a homicide investigation after a man was shot in a car and later died in the hospital.
The police department says officers responded to a report of a crash around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 100 block of Reynolds Boulevard.
They found Jonathan Harold Samuels, 49, of Winston-Salem, in a car who had been shot.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died on Tuesday.
He was driving in the 100 block of Reynolds Boulevard when an unknown suspect shot at him while he was driving, which caused him to crash, the release says.
The investigation is ongoing.
