CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Two men were found dead in separate homicide investigations early Sunday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to the 4800 block of Wallingford Street about an assault with a deadly weapon with injury. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Stanley Alfonzo Williams with stab wounds.

Williams was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced dead by medical staff, officials said.

About four hours later, around 6:00 a.m., CMPD said they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call in the 200 block of Eastway Drive in northeast Charlotte. When they arrived, they saw 23-year-old Javier Lee Martinez Hernandez with apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

That's now three homicides CMPD is investigating in eight hours after police responded to a fatal shooting near the CATS transit station in Uptown late Saturday night.

Qualo Trevon Danials, 31, was pronounced dead in that shooting after being taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on any incident is asked to contact a homicide detective at 704-432-8477 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
