ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Snow Camp man faces a first-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting and killing a man during an argument, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.
At 12:52 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on White Road in southern Alamance County. At the scene, investigators found Ervin Paul Brown Jr. dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies learned that the suspected shooter, Jeffrey Brent Lucas, 42, of Snow Camp, had reportedly left the scene in a pickup truck.
He was found and arrested on a charge of first-degree murder after a brief search of the area.
The sheriff's office says Brown and Lucas had been arguing over a "small" sum of money the previous night, and that argument had spilled over into the next day. Witnesses said that Lucas pulled out a weapon and allegedly shot Brown.
