ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff's Office are investigating a double homicide that occurred Saturday morning.

Around 8:42 a.m., deputies received a report of a homicide at 1212 Old Oak Lane in Woodleaf.

Authorities say a woman called 911 and stated that a friend, Jonathan Davon Freeman, had sent her a photo of her husband, Bryan Burr, dead in her home. It was also reported that Freeman's wife, Teri Freeman, was also dead.

Officers arrived to find Jonathan still on the scene and both Burr and Freeman inside the home, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the property, which was the residence of Burr and his wife, officials said. The Freemans lived in Lexington, N.C. Evidence obtained from the scene along with incriminating statements Jonathan made led to detectives charging him with two counts of murder.

He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond. His first court appearance is on September 17.
