BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is facing charges related to a homicide that happened in May, the Carrboro Police Department says.
According to a press release from CPD, on May 29, officers arrived at the 300 block of Estes Drive Extension. shortly before midnight and found Juan Maldonado Espinoza, 41, of Carrboro, dead.
Karla Maria Machuca, 28, of Burlington, was charged with first-degree murder, felony conspiracy and felony attempted kidnapping. She was arrested in Los Angeles on June 12 and will be brought back to North Carolina to face the charges.
CPD continues to investigate.
